The Federal Communications Commission regulates this station's underwriting guidelines.
Please read the message criteria. If you have specific questions, please ask your consultant.
KGOU reserves the right to edit copy, if necessary, to comply with FCC regulations.
Message Criteria:
Your message may contain:
Your company name, address, and phone
Your website URL
Value-neutral description of product or service including brand names and trade names
Official slogans that identify but do not promote
The FCC prohibits:
Messages containing price information e.g. "7.7% interest available now at the Bank of Money."
Messages containing a call to action e.g.: "Call today for more information" & "Stop by and . . . "
Messages containing an inducement to buy, sell, rent or lease e.g.: "Six months free service" or "Special gift for the first 50 customers."
Messages containing comparative or qualitative language e.g.: "We're the largest widget company in town."
We do not accept:
Pre-produced spots or jingles
Political or issue announcements
Acceptance of underwriters and announcements with potential conflicts of interest and problems of listener misconceptions will be taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis. KGOU reserves the right to refuse any request for underwriting from companies, businesses, organizations, or any other entities deemed to be inconsistent with KGOU's or The University of Oklahoma's image, not of general interest to KGOU listeners, or that could be detrimental to the welfare and image of the station.
