This position will act as writer and on-air host of the evening drive-time news, traffic and weather broadcasts on KGOU Radio. The hours are not flexible. This on-air service is broadcast every weekday. The position is under supervision of the KGOU News Director. Performs other related duties as assigned. This position will be for Summer 2008 (beginning work in early May or late April, 2008), plus Fall and Spring 2009 semesters and possibly longer depending on the selected candidate's graduation date. Student Employee - (News Producer/Assignment Radio)

News Producer - Assignment Radio: This position will act as producer of a bi-weekly half hour features magazine through the supervision of student reporters, doing the final audio mix of the program, and acting as host of the program. Duties will include meeting weekly with the professional staff and student reporters, assisting in creating ideas for stories, communications with other staff and students, coordinating deadlines, assisting staff with editing of stories, assembling the individual stories into a cohesive program, editing as necessary, and hosting the program. The hours are flexible with some during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, but will also require the ability to work evenings with student reporters as deadlines draw near. The position is under the supervision of the KGOU General Manager but also coordinates with and takes direction from the KGOU Program Director. Performs other related duties as assigned. This position will be for Fall 2008 (beginning work on August 4, 2008) and Spring 2009 semesters and possibly longer depending on the selected candidate's graduation date. Hours are flexible during business hours, but being available Friday mornings will be an advantage. 20 hours per week, $6.50 - $8.50 per hour.
