New on kgou.org – More Accessible Streaming
Regular Web listeners may have already noticed – there's something different about KGOU's Internet audio stream. Our new setup has 200 slots for listening (up from 75), no longer has a time limit, and will be compatible with more computer operating systems, including Web-enabled mobile phones. We're testing this new stream to see if it offers improved service for our listeners – test it yourself, and let us know how it works for you. Report any problems to membership@kgou.org.
NPR Plans Live Coverage of Iowa Caucuses and NH Primary
KGOU will air NPR’s special coverage of the Iowa Caucuses on Thursday, January 3, and the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, January 8. Robert Siegel will host a 2-hour special from Washington on each of those nights from 9 until 11 p.m. (CST).
NPR will have more than a dozen correspondents and producers stationed in each state focusing on key candidate locations with election veterans Linda Wertheimer, Mara Liasson, Ron Elving, Ken Rudin and others.
Help KGOU Celebrate! |
| January 1, 2008 marks KGOU's 25th year as a public radio station. To celebrate this important anniversary, and to officially dedicate our new studio and office space, we're hosting an on-air "party", so to speak, and then a real party here at the station. |
Mark your calendars for January 18, 2008; this is your invitation to listen to a special broadcast at 5 p.m. that day, and if you can join us for an "open house" from 6 to 7:30 p.m., we'd love to show off our new space personally.
And don't forget our listener essay contest, "I heard it on KGOU". Get your submissions, in 400 words or less, to manager@kgou.org by January 4 – the best one will be read during our special broadcast. |
