|  Oklahoma Voices: Remembering Ned Hockman Jan. 25, 2010 Longtime University of Oklahoma professor Ned Hockman died Dec. 20, 2009 at the age of 88 after an extended illness. The founder of the University of Oklahoma's Film and Video Studies Program taught both FVS and journalism courses from 1949-1987. He also served as a combat cameraman in the China-Burma-India theatre of operations in World War II, directed and produced the first theatrical film shot entirely in Oklahoma, and covered OU sports as the official photographer for OU Athletics. KGOU interviewed Hockman in 2006, and pulled excerpts from that interview along with recollections by friends, former students, and colleagues.

But the two Democratic candidates, Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins and Attorney General Drew Edmondson, have already faced off, presenting their views on the future health and well being of Oklahoma's children at the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy's fall legislative forum. Republican gubernatorial candidates U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin and State Senator Randy Brogdon were also invited, but unable to attend last week's event. Alex Cameron, director of Statewide Special Content Projects for Griffin Communications and leader of the Oklahoma Impact Team, served as moderator.
