KGOU to Grow Underwriting Team

This is the Manager’s Minute.

KGOU is continuing to grow.

In the last nine months we’ve added a new station in Clinton, and along with our public radio partners we’ve expanded our StateImpact Oklahoma reporting team and election coverage through Oklahoma Engaged.

Now, we are looking to increase our fundraising capacity, too, by adding another underwriting sales specialist.

Business sponsorships provide a large part of KGOU’s funding, about a third of our operating dollars.

But, there are opportunities for more.

KGOU delivers a strong, respected product – magazine programs Morning Edition and All Things Considered, thoughtful conversation, and news from NPR, BBC and Native Voice One, along with state and local news and weather.

Plus, popular jazz and blues music programs.

If you’re interested in doing underwriting sales and being associated with this public service media station, contact underwriting@kgou.org.

Until next time, with the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.

Dick Pryor has more than 30 years of experience in public service media, having previously served as deputy director, managing editor, news manager, news anchor and host for OETA, Oklahoma’s statewide public TV network. He was named general manager of KGOU Radio in November 2016.
