OU Students End Semester at KGOU

Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters
Storme Jones

This is the Manager’s Minute.

The spring semester at the University of Oklahoma has ended, so it’s time to say so long to students who’ve worked and taken classes at KGOU this year.

We had four Gaylord College students in Radio News – Ashley Eddy, Jaron Spor, Benji Vasquez and Collin Cook.  We hosted three students in the KGOU Practicum class – Shereen Hasam, Katie Stokes and Nyk Wynes.

This was the last semester at KGOU for Storme Jones...at least for a while. Storme will spend the summer at Arizona State University, working on an investigative reporting project at the Cronkite School of Journalism.  Next semester, Storme will be working in Washington, D.C. as part of a Gaylord College reporting program. We hope he will be able to augment our 2018 election coverage with reporting from the nation's capitol.

Recently, Storme won a first place award in the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters professional journalists competition. Storme has made quite a mark at KGOU – with his dedication and award-winning talent. We wish him and all of this semester’s students well as they head into summer.

Until next time, with the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.

Dick Pryor has more than 30 years of experience in public service media, having previously served as deputy director, managing editor, news manager, news anchor and host for OETA, Oklahoma’s statewide public TV network. He was named general manager of KGOU Radio in November 2016.
