Rain, Freezing Drizzle, Sleet, Ice and Snow Forecast Through Monday Morning

Drizzle and rain will begin late this afternoon. As temperatures drop this evening, the rain will change to freezing rain, sleet, and snow from north to south.

Precipitation chances will increase late tonight. The highest chances for precipitation will mainly be along, and southeast of, I- 44. Some light ice accumulations will be possible Sunday evening, which could lead to some slick roads.

Heavier ice accumulations will be possible near/east of Shawnee and Ada. There is a Winter Weather Advisory tonight and early Monday for much of north-central, central, and south-central Oklahoma for this combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain.

At this time, the greatest chance of ice accumulations is across part of central Oklahoma. Moderate ice accumulations, up to 1/4 inch, are possible, mainly east of Shawnee, Ada, and Atoka.

Lighter icing is possible along and east of I-44. Impacts to the morning commute may occur. Snow and sleet accumulation totals could exceed 2-3 inches for a few locations across central and north central OK by early Monday morning.

Please keep a close eye on the forecast, especially if you plan to travel in central or eastern Oklahoma tonight or Monday morning.
