The 10th annual Oklahoma Regatta Festival continues through October 5 at the Boathouse District along the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City.

The multi-day event celebrates the rowing, kayaking, dragon boating and related activities that have helped transform the Oklahoma River into a world-class urban aquatic venue.

In addition to watching both day-and-nighttime races and related boating events, patrons can also experience fireworks, live music, and children’s activities.

This weekend marks the final performances of Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre’s commemorative stage production of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes Of Wrath.

The play is modeled after Frank Galati’s Tony Award-winning adaption of Steinbeck’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel focusing on the plight of Dust Bowl-era “Okies” migrating to California in search of better fortunes.

“This story is an essential part of the fabric of our history,” said CityRep Artistic Director Donald Jordan. “These people, in the face of incredible hardship and challenging circumstances – even dire circumstances – continued to respond with courage and persistence, decency and kindness in a way that I think is both uplifting and emotionally challenging.”

Performances are set for Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Oklahoma City University’s Burg Theatre.
