Welcome KGOU Students For Fall 2016

August 28, 2016

This is from the Manager’s Desk.

It is time to recognize our students at KGOU for the fall semester.

Taking Practicum this semester are Ethan Barton and David Ransom. These two will be working on a variety of items behind the scenes – editing audio, preparing promotional announcements, and making sure the operations go smoothly.

Working for pay are two that you will recognize as they have been working for us for quite some time. Richard Bassett is handling all of the community event calendars, both online and on the air, plus doing a great deal of audio engineering for our local musical performances.

Storme Jones continues as the host of the noon news, traffic and weather reports, and occasionally also will produce some special features.

We enjoy having these students with us, as we watch their skills and abilities grow, and as they really do help with the many tasks involved in this public radio station.

Thanks!  From the Manager’s Desk, I’m Karen Holp.

Karen earned her Master (1974) and Bachelor (1972) degrees from the University of Akron in Ohio, and has worked as Program Director at WMRA-FM, James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia and WUIS-FM, University of Illinois at Springfield. She moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1979 to become General Manager of KRWG-FM.
