African Drumming and Dance Workshop: Meditation in Action
Gordy Onayemi Ryan and Zoe Ryan studied and toured with Babatunde Olatunji, the first drummer to popularize traditional African drumming in the West. The workshop will be a cultural immersion to inspire the development of individual creativity and deepen the understanding of West African drumming and dance.
The benefits of drumming will be addressed as a tool for reducing stress and enhancing a sense of well-being and connection with others. Beginners and experienced drummers and dancers are welcome at this workshop which will be a musical, educational, and cultural experience for all.
Workshop sessions:
- Friday, September 30 7:00pm-10:00pm
- Saturday, October 1 12:30pm-6:00pm
- Sunday, October 2 Noon – 5:00pm
