Developing New Goals For 2021

KGOU

This is the Manager’s Minute.

NPR’s four primary goals this year are to reach audiences where they are, provide on-demand programming, emphasize diversity, equity and inclusion, and diversify and strengthen fundraising. We plan to do the same at KGOU.

COVID-19 forced us to learn new methods and adjust to keep staff and students safe. We’re still working remotely, and the ability to do remote operations helped us continue to deliver services during the major ice and snowstorms and power outages in the last six months.

This year, we’ll have a redesigned website and some new ways to engage our audience and generate increased financial support. We’re planning more coverage on race relations and social justice, including reporting on the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

If you have a story idea or suggestions for how we can serve you better, let me know by email at manager@kgou.org.

With the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.

Dick Pryor has more than 30 years of experience in public service media, having previously served as deputy director, managing editor, news manager, news anchor and host for OETA, Oklahoma’s statewide public TV network. He was named general manager of KGOU Radio in November 2016.
