Visit KGOU For National Radio Day

August 14, 2016

This is from the Manager’s Desk.

This Saturday, August 20, is National Radio Day and KGOU is holding an open house from noon to 3 p.m. here in our studios.

We invite you to come for a little or stay for a while. We’ll have some meeting time with our news reporters so you can ask them about their work.

You can also be part of the audience for the music group – The Royal Jelly – who will be doing some live performances during the Weekend Blues.

There will be some pizza as long as it lasts, drawings for tickets and more.

We have a link on our web page with information about avoiding the road construction in Norman, and where to park to visit the KGOU studios.

And listen during the coming week for some information I’ve put together about the history of radio, public radio and KGOU.

Thanks!  From the Manager’s Desk, I’m Karen Holp.

Karen earned her Master (1974) and Bachelor (1972) degrees from the University of Akron in Ohio, and has worked as Program Director at WMRA-FM, James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia and WUIS-FM, University of Illinois at Springfield. She moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1979 to become General Manager of KRWG-FM.
