It’s beginning to feel a lot like the holiday season that is upon us and this week’sOneSix8offers some additional 'indicators’ of what’s ahead with decorating tips, a winter wonderland, and even some early gift ideas.

Getting out the holiday decorations can be a daunting task, so the Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoma City offers an event to add an easy seasonal touch to anyone’s holiday decorating scheme. Top It Off Topiariesis Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Terrace Room.

Taught by Children’s Garden Manager Kerry Rapp, guests learn which plants thrive in the cool weather temperatures, and plant their own colorful container to add some holiday cheer to the front porch, back yard or other favorite outdoor winter spot.  Tickets are $30 for members and $25 for non-members.

For some early holiday gift shopping Church of the Servant and Boy Scout Troop 177 in Oklahoma City host Earthglow Market Saturday November 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The market includes booths with hand-made and commercial items for just about any interest.  They also hold a large bake sale for lunch. All of the proceeds go to local missions within the church.

Santa makes his big holiday debut at Bass Pro Shop’s Santa’s Wonderland, also on November 9 from 5 to 6 p.m. Guests arrive at 5 and can expect holiday decorations and listen to Christmas carols, but the event begins when Santa makes his big entrance.
