Country music star Reba McEntire was rescued Tuesday from a building in Atoka following a stairwell collapse.
According to TV station KXII, McEntire was touring a historic building in downtown Atoka for a future project when the stairwell between the second and third floors collapsed, trapping her and six other people on separate floors of the more than 100-year-old building.
The fire department evacuated the building by helping people climb out of a second-story window and down a ladder.
According to the report, one person was taken to a Durant hospital with minor injuries.
McEntire posted on her Twitter account Wednesday about the incident, crediting the “quick response from the Atoka fire and police departments.”
