Pop-Up Nature Center: Bats!

Pop-Up Nature Center: Bats!

Uncover the truth about bats this Halloween! Join us for a fascinating and free educational program on October 31st from 6-8 p.m. at the Arcadia Lake Teaching Trail. This all-ages, come-and-go event is perfect for families, nature lovers, and anyone curious about the world around them.

We've brought in the experts! You'll have the chance to chat with our county's only bat rehabilitator and a team of knowledgeable students from the University of Oklahoma. Discover how vital bats are to our ecosystem, learn the correct way to build a bat house to help local populations, and get hands-on with fun activities and educational books. We will be handing out packets of native wildflower seeds that contain some favorite nectar sources for bats, too!

Throughout the evening, small groups will take short walks with our experts to look and listen for the echolocation calls of wild bats. We'll also have candy for trick-or-treaters!

Driving Instructions: Turn south on Midwest Blvd from US Rte 66 / 2nd Street. Turn right at the first opportunity; the road will curve, just after the curve there is a parking lot to the right (northwest). If the parking lot is full, you can park along the roadside. Look for the Pop-Up Nature Center Signs!
