Mercy is making changes to its visitor policy at all hospitals and clinics across the state.
Starting Monday, patients will only be allowed one designated visitor during their inpatient stay or outpatient visit at all Mercy campuses in Oklahoma. No visitors are allowed for patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, as well as those with pending test results.
The hospital says it's changing its visitor policy following an increase in the number of COVID-19 inpatients and the highly contagious Delta variant.
The policy is effective at the following Mercy campuses:
- Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City
- Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City – South
- Mercy Edmond I-35 campus
- Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Oklahoma City
- Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Oklahoma City – South
- All Mercy Clinic locations in Oklahoma
Exceptions to the visitor policy are listed below:
- Three visitors will be allowed for all patients nearing the end of life.
- All visitors must be 16 or older.
- Intensive Care Unit: Patients are allowed one designated visitor from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Emergency Department: Patients in the emergency department will be allowed one designated visitor once the patient is assigned to a room. Visitors may not wait in the lobby, must wear a mask, and stay in the patient’s room at all times.
