Juvenile Suspect Taken Into Custody In Connection With Moore High School Evacuation

Moore Police Department

Updated 12:51 p.m.

Police in Moore say they have taken a juvenile suspect into custody in connection with a threat that led to the evacuation of students and faculty members from Moore High School. Officials say the school has been cleared and students and faculty were allowed to return to classes.

Police say students and faculty members have been evacuated from Moore High School after officials received what they described as a specific and detailed threat.

Moore Police Department spokesman Jeremy Lewis said Friday that students and faculty were evacuated before noon and relocated to Central Church of Christ south of the Moore High School. Lewis says all students and faculty members are safe.

Lewis says authorities believed the evacuation was necessary after officials received a detailed threat to the school and students. Lewis declined to disclose how the threat was received.

He says the threat is under investigation and that officers are inside the school. He says parents of Moore High School students are free to pick their children up at the church.
