Oklahoma AG Joins 25 States To Sue San Francisco Over City Gun Ordinance
Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt has joined a lawsuit originated by Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning against the city of San Francisco, arguing that the city's ordinance requiring handguns be locked when in storage violates the Second Amendment.
The Washington Post reported Friday that the suit filed by the Nebraska AG was joined by Attorney Generals from 25 other states.
The suit claims, "San Francisco’s locked storage requirement is substantially similar to the law the Supreme Court in Heller found to be invalid. Such blatant infringement on Amici State citizens’ rights warrants review by this Court." In 2008. the Heller decision struck down laws in the District of Columbia regarding handguns.
