Outgoing Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Patrice Douglas says she plans to return to the private sector when her term ends.

The former Edmond mayor, whose business background is in banking and law, served for more than three years on the commission after being appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin in September 2011. Her term ends on Monday.

The Oklahoman reports that Douglas is not yet revealing what her next job will be. Douglas says she would rather not announce it while she is still a sitting commissioner.

Douglas didn't draw an opponent when she ran in 2012 to fill out the remainder of a six-year term. She ran for Congress last year, losing the Republican primary to now-Rep. Steve Russell.

Douglas' successor, Commissioner-elect Todd Hiett, will be sworn in on today.
