Of all the states President Donald Trump won in 2016, only Alabama has a Democratic senator up for reelection this year.

We’re visiting WBHM in Alabama ahead of Super Tuesday to take the temperature of voters in the Yellowhammer State.

Alabamians elected Democrat Doug Jones during a special election in 2017 to fill the Senate seat left vacant by former Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Sessions was forced out of the Department of Justice in late 2018, and now he’s back home, hoping to take back his old seat in November.

First, he has to win the state’s Republican primary, which is far from an assured victory.

We check in with voters about who they’re supporting in the primary and why.
