Reader Comments Policy
We'd love to have your comments on our posts, but we will not hesitate to enforce a few basic ground rules:
- Please don't use profanity. If you couldn't use that word on the radio, don't use it here. If you're looking for adjectives to spice up your writing, we've found a dictionary and thesaurus can help.
- Same goes for images you post in comments, photos, emojis, memes, etc. Keep it out of the gutter, please.
- Hate speech is not going to get past the moderator. Generalizations about groups of people are rarely helpful in promoting a civil discussion.
- Don't attack other commentors -- no name-calling. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, no matter how misguided you think they are.
- Don’t impersonate anyone else, whether classified as a public or private person under the law. Just be yourself -- you are enough.
- Don't divulge any personal information, about anyone you know or about yourself, such as addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or health status. If you think we need to know certain information, send it to us in a direct message.
Be civil. Be constructive. And be aware that KGOU reserves the right to moderate the comments on this website, to remove comments for any reason, and to block accounts that appear to be fake or that repeatedly violate these rules. If you're into fine print, there's more in our Terms of Use.
