The Oklahoma City Utilities Department will hold a public hearing on a proposed drilling operation on the Lake Hefner Reservation on Thursday, December 18, according to a Facebook event posted by Oklahoma City Councilman, Ed Shadid.
A letter sent from the Oklahoma City Utilities Department announced the public hearing at the Will Roger Conservatory, 3400 NW 36th Street in Oklahoma at 6pm.
According to a Fox25 report, Ed Shadid says
the proposal includes a three year term, signage, guard stationed at trail crossings, chain link fence and sound buffer. The proposals also says Pedestal can drill up to five wells after the initial well. Shadid says the city will receive 21% royalty payments that will go directly toward Lake Hefner recreational improvements.

All written comments received by Monday, December 22, will be gathered and summarized in a report to the Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust in January 2015.
