The book profiles Lee Harvey Oswald's life.... Mailer published his first book in 1948. The Naked and the Dead Oswald's Tale... is Mailer's 28th book. In 1968, He won a Pulitzer Prize for Armies of the Night and was again a Pulitzer recipient in 1980 for The Executioner's Song. He is co-founder of The Village Voice and was president of AMERICAN PEN from 1984 to 1986.
