International investor and philanthropist GEORGE SOROS and one of the world's wealthiest men. He's been called the "world's greatest investor." As head of the Soros Foundation, (a philanthropic organization) he's given away millions internationally, funding such things as a water-treatment plant for Sarajevo, low-income housing units for South Africa's urban townships, and a University for Central Europe in Budapest. SOROS is also known as the "man who broke the Bank of England" by betting against the British currency and earning a billion dollars on Black Wednesday. Daniel talks with Patrick Leahy, democratic senator from Vermont, about Leahy's proposal to restrict the usage of landmines. Leahy sponsored a bill that passed in the senate that calls for a moratorium on landmine usage by the United States. But the Pentagon opposes Leahy's efforts and is working to scud similiar legislation in the House.

Daniel speak with Adam Clymer, the New York Times Chief Congressional Correspondent, about the continuing impasse between the White House and the Republican-controlled Congress over the budget.
