Chris Nuttall (NUT-ll) reports that Turkey has begun training the first contigent of soldiers from the Bosnian Federation Army. The army is composed of Muslim troops who are allied against the Bosnian Serb army. Turkey is teaching federation army soldiers how to use tanks and heavy artillery.

Noah talks with Brian Cummings of the Bozo Frog Team. Cummings's three-legged frog, named "Three Legs are Better than None," won the 1996 World Class Championship Frog Jumping Jubilee on Sunday at the Calaveras County Fair in California. This is the third three-legged frog Cummings has entered in the Championship during his seventeen-year frog racing career.

Daniel talks with Dr. Philip Nitschke with the Voluntary Euthanasia Network in Australia's Northern Territory. Recently, the Northern Territory Assembly voted that a measure legalizing euthanasia would go into effect July 1st. After the law was passed last year, several people travelled to the Northern Territory hoping to take advantage of legalized physician assisted suicide. But upon arrival, they discovered the law had not actually taken effect and several ended up taking their lives illegally. With this pending enactment, Dr. Nitschke says there's about 10 people he knows of who are planning to travel to the territory in order to die there, legally.

Robert speaks with Marjorie Miller, Los Angeles Times Bureau Chief in Jerusalem, about the meeting in Gaza today of the Palestine National Council. For decades, the P-N-C has been the government in exile for Palestinians. This is the group's first meeting in territory controlled by Palestinians and Yasser Arafat is asking the council to remove their constitutional clause calling for the destruction of Israel. Many of the participants have rejected any accommodation with Israel in the past.

Republican presidential candidate Bob Dole is planning to give a speech atttacking the president's record on welfare reform this week. But in a speech this weekend, the president tried to beat him to the punch by praising a radical reform plan championed by Wisconsin's Republican governor.
