This is the Manager’s Minute.

This year marks NPR’s and KGOU’s fiftieth anniversary. We’re also celebrating another anniversary. Just over ten years ago, August 29, 2011, KGOU aired the first report from our StateImpact Oklahoma team.

StateImpact Oklahoma is a collaborative journalism project with Oklahoma’s NPR stations, and its reporters have earned 82 awards. The latest is the Carter Bradley First Amendment Award presented by the Oklahoma Society of Professional Journalists to Robby Korth.

Robby was honored for serving the public and First Amendment through the StateImpact Oklahoma COVID in Schools Case Tracker. The tracker aided schools, parents and policy makers and he’s doing it again this year – monitoring school closures due to coronavirus.

It’s on the StateImpact Oklahoma website.

With the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.
