Students Learn Broadcast Journalism Skills At KGOU

This is the Manager’s Minute.

Each semester, University of Oklahoma students learn broadcast journalism skills at KGOU. This winter and spring, we have five OU students on board – two in Practicum class and three who are paid student employees.

Practicum students learn broadcasting skills in a professional environment. Maggie Schoenfeld and TJ Turner are writing and producing Community Calendar announcements and other on-air content.

Our three student employees are Gabriela Tumani, Dani Ingram and Jack Paylor. They’re doing news reporting and hosting local segments in NPR magazine programs Here and Now and All Things Considered. Gabriela is back for her second semester, while Dani and Jack are new to KGOU in 2022.

If you have questions about opportunities for students at KGOU, email me at manager@kgou.org.

With the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.
