Help us put a voice to the tens of thousands of listeners who tune in to KGOU each week. Share an audio "snapshot" the next time you're listening to KGOU, and get our new, limited edition T-shirt.
We've heard that many of you are multitasking when you're listening, whether on the radio or online, and we're curious to know what else you're doing. So take a minute to tell us about it – here's how:
- Find your phone's voice recorder. Go to the main menu and find the app that is similar to Voice Memo or Voice Recorder. Here's a tutorial for iPhones:Android and other phones will work similarly. WikiHow has a tutorial.
- Record your message. Tell us who you are, where you are, what you're doing and what you're listening to. Length: 20 seconds to 1 minute. (Be brief, be creative, have fun!)
- Keep recording to capture some extra audio around you. (Don't worry – we'll edit it.)
- Save and get that recorded audio to us!* Use your phone's "send" or "share" feature to email the audio file to KGOU Program Manager Jim Johnson at programming@kgou.org with the following information: name, favorite program(s), city you live in and a phone number where we can reach you or leave a message.
- Feel free to send us a photo, too. A selfie capturing the moment would be great. (We know many of you listen while getting ready in the morning; just make sure you're fully clothed when you snap that pic!)
Here are a few examples:

It doesn't have to be perfect – remember, this is just a snapshot of a moment in time. We'll use our editing skills to tighten up any gaps, etc.
Once you record your audio, start sharing! Post in your own Facebook or Twitter profiles using the hashtag #MyKGOU.
*By sending audio, you are giving KGOU permission to consider your audio for on-air and online broadcast.
All participants will receive a special, limited-edition T-shirt.
Questions? Email Jim.
We can't wait to hear what you come up with!
