On Saturday, April 27, at 6:30pm, the Norman High Band Association will host its 11th Annual Big Band Dinner Dance at the Nancy O’Brian Center for the Performing Arts. The event features jazz and big band music provided by the Norman High School Jazz Band, dinner and dancing.

At the Big Band Dinner Dance each year, a new inductee is honored into the Norman High School Band Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was established to recognize and honor those NHS band members, directors, administrators and supporters who helped to bring honor, recognition, distinction and excellence to Norman High School through their talent, hard work and dedication to the program. This year’s recipient is Joel Deardorf, who served as assistant band director at Norman High School for 9 years, and head director in 2017-2018. During his tenure, the band received its first superior rating in more than 20 years.

Early bird tickets to the event are $55 per person, which includes a buffet meal provided by Norman’s Social Butterfly catering, dancing and entertainment. After April 6, the price increases to $60 per person. Tickets can be purchased at www.nhsband.net/BBDD.
