Yukon Freedom Fest

This year's Yukon Freedom Fest is a two-day festival which runs July 3rd and 4th at Yukon City Park & Chisholm Trail Park.

July 3 evening events are held at Chisholm Trail Park. A live outdoor music show by the Hi-Fi Hillbillies takes place from 5 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is serving up FREE frozen custard at 6 p.m. Irv Wagner’s Concert Band follows with an 8:30 p.m. patriotic tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces. An awe-inspiring fireworks show at 10 p.m. concludes the evening, which also pays tribute to American veterans.

The July 4 daytime activities are scheduled at City Park. The annual children’s Cherry BombTriathlon begins at 8 a.m., followed by the USA Unique Sand Art Contest at 10 a.m., both on the north side of Yukon Community Center, 2200 S Holly.

The Freedom Fest Car Show begins at 10 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m. Overdrive Band performs popular tunes from 10 a.m. to noon, then a live DJ continues the show and gets visitors involved until 3 p.m. The annual Hot Dog Eating Contest begins at 1 p.m. at the Car Show Stage, which is fun for both participants and observers.

The annual Children’s Parade starts at 11 a.m. Children’s Craft Tents and a play area are open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. City Splash will be open for free swimming from noon to 4 p.m.

July 4 evening events are held at Chisholm Trail Park and Gazebo. Grady’s 66 Pub opens their beer tent at 4 p.m. with onion burgers and a dunk tank. A live Super Freak concert is scheduled from 5:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Chisholm Trail Stage. Kids Crafts and Games open from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free watermelon and ice cream is served at 7 p.m. by the City of Yukon, Yukon Mobile Meals and Yukon Friends of the Park.

Patriotic music begins at 8 p.m. The Oklahoma City Philharmonic presents an outdoor patriotic concert at the gazebo at 8:40 p.m. A vibrant fireworks show begins at 10 p.m.
