Each year in the first weekend in May our community celebrates the Rose Rock Festival and provides space and opportunities for the Noble High advanced students to showcase their art talent. This year we have an exceptional group of young artists! We are excited to introduce these highly talented artists to the community. It's a come and go event free to the public. Please come meet this years advanced artists and help support the arts! Their artwork is affordable and ready to hang in you home. 70% of the sales go to the students, 30% fall back into the high school art program to replenish the tools and supplies. We hope to see you there!

Attend the Fried Onion Burger Day Festival in downtown El Reno to witness the cooking of the world's largest fried onion hamburger, weighing over 850 lbs. This annual event is a tribute to the popular fried onion hamburgers that have been cooked daily in diners and cafes throughout El Reno since the early 1900s. This El Reno festival attracts over 20,000 visitors each year, and also includes games, live entertainment and more. Browse rows of classic cars in the festival's car and motorcycle show, or enjoy shopping for handmade goods and merchandise in a wide variety of craft and vendor booths. Clowns and magicians will be on hand to entertain the kids, while a burger eating contest invites participants to chow down on delicious onion burgers in the hopes of claiming the top prize.
Celebrate Hispanic culture at the annual Fiesta de Mayo in Broken Arrow's Rose District. Gather together along Main Street for a day filled with dancing, live music, family-friendly activities, shopping and more. Be sure to order a round of beers, sip on a refreshing margarita or enjoy authentic Mexican food available at this festive event.

Spend a fun evening at the OKC Philharmonic Orchestra's breathtaking Symphony Show House for the "KenDucky Derby." Guests are invited to dress up in their best derby attire for a night of fun, drinks, and rubber ducky races in an opulent mansion. This unique fundraising event in Oklahoma City helps support music education programs.

Gardeners, plant lovers and cooking enthusiasts will enjoy the Oklahoma City Flower & Garden Festival at the Myriad Botanical Gardens this May. Stop and wonder at the wide range of native Oklahoma plants, herbs, flowers, succulents, jewelry, art and crafts throughout the festival. Local food trucks will also be on-site, so visitors can grab a bite to eat while admiring the garden-related items sure to brighten anyone's home.
Join the Oklahoma Compost and Sustainability Association (OCASA) in celebrating International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) May 4-10! This year we have a week full of events with the ultimate event being the Compost Festival at Scissortail Park on Saturday, May 10 from 9-1 p.m. Be sure to attend all the events mentioned! ICAW starts off on Monday, 5/4/25, with a virtual tour of the Norman Compost Facility, Commonwealth Farms, and two local composters backyards. On Tuesday, 5/5/25, there will be a tour of Fertile Ground Cooperative. On Wednesday, 5/6/25, OCASA teamed up with Oklahoma City Beautiful for a Sustainable Placemaking discussion and panel at Sailor and the Dock! Thursday will be Coffee & Compost at Scissortail Park, touring their compost operations at 10 a.m.! Friday, come along on a tour of the sustainability initiatives at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) starting at 10 a.m. Finally, Saturday will be the 4th annual Compost Festival at Scissortail Park from 9-1 p.m. There will be yoga, a community composting panel discussion, a backyard composting workshop (with free compost goodies to take home!), music from Compost Adjacent, and an interactive scavenger hunt with some super cool prizes. Enjoy a FREE day of dance at the Calderón Dance Festival, a festival that celebrates the life of Shannon Calderón and her vision for building an accessible community that creates diverse and equitable opportunities in dance. The festival brings together participants and audiences from across the state, nationally, and internationally to experience the rich diversity and beauty of dance in all its forms.
Presented in partnership with SPARK! Creative Lab, the Calderón Dance Festival is scheduled to take place on May 18th, 2025 at the Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoma City, and is expecting an attendance of over 5,000 dance enthusiasts, participants, and families. The festival will feature a variety of performances and classes showcasing styles from Classical Ballet, Folklores, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Flamenco, Tap, and many more.
Festival Headliner: Grammy Award winner Anthony Thomas, choreographer of Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation”. Featured Guests Artists include ReVoZo, Edgar Cruz, and guest judges for the Hip Hop Battle (with cash prizes!) led by Groovemeant Community.
