Oklahoma Gas & Electric on Sunday deployed crew members and power trucks to aid in restoring electricity in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

Andrea Dennis is the Vice President of Transmission & Distribution Operations and says the linemen will perform a variety of tasks.

"They will be doing everything from trimming trees and rebuilding power lines and resetting polls, replacing transformers - anything it takes to get customers’ power restored," she said.

OG&E is sending over 200 linemen. Dennis says helping in times of need are what these crew members are passionate about.

"Being able to restore power it is what these guys live for. So, they are happy to go and help others, and they also know that these guys will come and help us when we need help."

OG&E’s mutual assistance crews are typically deployed for up to 14 days. The utility company will send additional support if needed.
