This is from the Manager’s Desk.
The KGOU and StateImpact Oklahoma Staff are very talented people, and once again, their work has been recognized.
This week – I'm congratulating the KGOU staff, and next week, StateImpact Oklahoma will get the applause.
Jim Johnson was the top winner in the Metro Radio Division of the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters’ annual competition for a radio feature about independent music in Oklahoma.
KGOU received 11 awards from the Oklahoma Pro Chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists. First place went to Kate Carlton Greer for the Best Reporting Portfolio, plus election and investigative reporting, and to Brian Hardzinski, Rebecca Cruise and Suzette Grillot for diversity stories and interview programs.
Add in four Second Place and four Third Place awards for work by Kate Carlton Greer, Brian Hardzinski, Suzette Grillot, Rebecca Cruise, Keith Gaddie, Kurt Gwartney, and Patrick Roberts.
Congratulations to the KGOU staff (and our university friends) who work together so well that the programming and news staffs are able to do great work.
From the Manager’s Desk, I’m Karen Holp.
