January 1, 2016 is KGOU’s anniversary, and we are marking 33 years of public radio service. KGOU at 106.3 FM serves Cleveland County.
KGOU’s longevity is a combination of support from the University of Oklahoma, the availability of the annual grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the support from KGOU listeners. The constant support from these three sources has enabled KGOU to grow.
KROU at 105.7 FM, serving Oklahoma County, turns 23 in June.
KWOU at 88.1 FM, serving Woodward and northwestern Oklahoma, and KOUA at 91.9 FM, serving Ada and Pontotoc County, both turn five in January.
The translators serving Seminole (K276ET at 105.1 FM) and Ada (K250AU at 97.9 FM) turn nine in July and August.
The Chickasha translator (K259BL at 106.9 FM) turns six in August. The Shawnee translator (K286BZ at 105.1 FM) turns one in July.
