Meteorologist Jamie Simpson wasn’t pleased with fans of “The Bachelorette.”
Fox 45 interrupted the popular reality-TV show to warn viewers near Dayton, Ohio, about a spate of tornadoes that were moving through the area. But show fans were peeved.
Simpson snapped. “I’m done with you people … this is pathetic,” he said to viewers, after seeing angry posts on social media.
Dayton isn’t the only place experiencing tornadoes. Authorities reported injuries and damage to homes in Eastern Kansas as well.
Vox also reports Idaho, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Indiana and Pennsylvania also experienced tornadoes.
How do we best communicate the potential danger of severe weather? And how to do we get people to take these warnings seriously?
We talk about all that and more with an NOAA-affiliated research scientist.
