Novelist KAYE GIBBONS. She's the author of several acclaimed novels: Ellen Foster and Charms for the Easy Life. Host Jacki Lyden speaks with Reza Pahlavi (pah-lah-VEE), the on of the former Shah of Iran. Pahlavi who represents the constitutional ovement in exile, is a big supporter of an opposition conference taking place his weekend in Stuttgard, Germany. Pahlavi believes all Iranian opposition roups should be united against the current regime.

This past week, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow Alaska to export oil for the first time since the energy crisis of the mid-1970's. The Senate previously passed the measure, and President Clinton says he'll sign it. This all got us to thinking about how far the country has or hasn't come since the energy crisis, and Danny talks to oil expert Daniel Yergin for some answers.
