Muslim societies are not usually associated with female mpowerment and feminist values, but women activists in Iran and other countries n the Middle East are gaining new-found respect and recognition throughout the egion. NPR's Jacki Lyden visited Iran and spoke to a variety of women about the rowth of the equality movement throughout their country, and learned how and hy these Muslim women are working toward positive re-interpretation of the oman's role in Islamic law and society.
