Scorpions, Spiders, & Friends Nature Walk

Scorpions, Spiders, & Friends Nature Walk
The arthropod group Arachnida, including scorpions, spiders and their relatives, is one of the most diverse animal groups on the planet. Although often feared by humans, these organisms play an important role in our ecosystem and their biology offers important insights not only into the history of the Earth but also in medicine and biotechnology. During the event, Dr. Loria will teach us about the diversity, biogeography, evolution and ecology, of these predators and show us how they are collected and prepared for museum collections. Join us for this spectacular activity that will include fascinating arachnids and fluorescence! Our findings will be added to the Parks for Pollinators 2025: Mitch Park BioBlitz project in iNaturalist.
