Get your binoculars ready and join local birding experts in viewing and documenting birds at Mitch Park! We will walk at a leisurely pace, and our observations will be added to the Parks for Pollinators 2025: Mitch Park BioBlitz project in iNaturalist.
Helpful information about this walk:
We are meeting at the parking lot of the Mathis Skate Park. Click HERE for a Google Maps Pin to the location.Please dress weather appropriate and wear comfortable walking / hiking shoes. Remember to apply insect repellent in the parking lot, not on the trails / in habitat areas. Don't forget drinking water and snacks!

Are you team green, or team pink??
Wicked" is a musical fantasy film, based on the Broadway show, that serves as a prequel to "The Wizard of Oz." It explores the untold story of the witches of Oz, focusing on the unlikely friendship between Elphaba (the future Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda (who becomes Glinda the Good Witch). The film delves into their experiences at Shiz University, their encounters with the Wizard, and the events that shape their destinies and ultimately lead to their iconic roles.
Concessions will be set up and ready by 6:45pm. The movie starts at sunset (around 7:45-8pm).

See the largest pumpkins in the state at the annual Oklahoma Giant Pumpkin Growers Weighoff. Taking place on September 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, the event features the official weigh-in and showcase of the largest pumpkins grown in Oklahoma.

Take a walk with us to learn about the plants in Mitch Park! Dr. Caddell will be sharing her extensive knowledge of plants with us, and we will be contributing our findings to the Parks for Pollinators 2025: Mitch Park VIRTUAL BioBlitz using the free iNaturalist App.

We will meet at the parking lot of the Mathis Skate Park and walk on trails from there. Click here for a Google Maps Pin of the location. Please register each person attending this program. Limited spaces are available, and if you are not able to attend after registering please notify us by calling so we can open the spot up on the roster. Dress weather-appropriate and wear comfortable walking shoes.If you will be utilizing any insect repellents, please apply them in the parking lot or at home, not near plants and wildlife in the park.Be sure to bring enough drinking water for your group.
