Valliant Watermelon Festival
The annual Watermelon Festival in Valliant, located in southeast Oklahoma, kicks off Friday July 30, 2021 with a parade through town at 6pm, led by various car show entries. A gospel music concert will be held in the local city park at 7pm. The fun continues early Saturday morning with good old-fashioned family fun to include the big melon weigh-off, games, and live entertainment. Come to this festival and enjoy watermelon salsa and watermelon slushies. There will also be free watermelon slices while supplies last. Watermelon Festival contests include a watermelon eating contest, seed spitting, a horseshoe tournament, weenie dog races and turtle races. One block over from the city park in the Blackard Garden there will be a classic car show, and in the Terry Building there will be a photography and quilt show. Food and craft vendors will offer something for everyone. Visitors to this event are also invited to a Watermelon Bingo at 6pm in the Mattie Terry Building that closes out the Valliant Watermelon Festival. Come to the Valliant Watermelon Festival and browse through this year's classic car show, or simply enjoy singing and live entertainment throughout the day. This annual family-oriented festival features an entire day filled with fun events, competitive contests and plenty of delicious watermelon.
