Vanessa Lillie is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation and the author of the USA Today bestselling Blood Sisters, it’s follow up Bone Thief; suspense novels Little Voices, For the Best and coauthor of the Young Rich Widows series. Vanessa hosts an Instagram Live show with crime fiction authors and was a columnist for the Providence Journal. Originally from Northeast Oklahoma, she lives on Narragansett land in Rhode Island and is proudly Two-Spirit.She will be with us on Friday, March 20th, 2026 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm for an author signing and a celebration of her work.

The Distinguished Speaker Series honors the legacy of Clara Luper through quarterly thought-provoking discussions on civil rights, social justice, and movements for change. It brings people together to bridge history with the present and fosters learning, connection, and a shared vision for a world without racism and bigotry.
The inaugural event will be an evening of dialogue and reflection exploring Clara Luper’s memoir "Behold The Walls", moderated by the commemorative edition's editor, Dr. Karlos K. Hill, and with panelists who are civil rights activists and advocates.

Join us at 10a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31st, for a poetry reading with Patricia Smith, presented by the Thatcher Hoffman Smith poetry series. Come to the Kerr McGee Auditorium at Meinders School of Business, NW 26th & N. McKinley Ave, Oklahoma City for a reading followed by a book signing. As always our friends at Full Circle Book Store will be on hand to sell copies of the poet's books. This event is free & open to the public.
