Program Host Changes In 2020

This is the Manager’s Minute.

As we enter a new year and decade, some personnel changes are coming to popular public radio programs you hear on KGOU.

Manoush Zomorodi is the new host of the TED Radio Hour, beginning in the spring. She takes over from Guy Raz, who left at the end of 2019 after seven years as TED Radio Hour host. Zomorodi is an author and also creator of a podcast about life in the digital age.

Robert Krulwich is retiring this month as co-host of the Radiolab podcast and radio show. Krulwich and Jad Abumrad created the program and have co-hosted it for 17 years.

One other change is on 1A. Founding host Joshua Johnson has left to become an anchor at MSNBC. Todd Zwillich will be interim host of 1A, beginning this month, while NPR and the producing station WAMU in Washington, D.C. work on finding a new full-time host.

Until next time, with the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.

Dick Pryor has more than 30 years of experience in public service media, having previously served as deputy director, managing editor, news manager, news anchor and host for OETA, Oklahoma’s statewide public TV network. He was named general manager of KGOU Radio in November 2016.
