KGOU Announces Host Changes

This is the Manager’s Minute.

After almost six years at KGOU, our local All Things Considered host and social media coordinator Richard Bassett has left to pursue new opportunities near his family overseas. Gaylord College student and KGOU reporter Ryan Gaylor will soon be taking over afternoon hosting duties.

Another promotion involves a familiar voice. KGOU Morning Edition host Nyk Daniels is going full-time to do news reporting and audio production in addition to hosting. Nyk started at KGOU as an OU student before becoming a part-time and now, full-time employee.

We’re also adding two OU students to summer positions. Tristen Watkins will serve as host and reporter and Grace Burget will join our team as an intern through the Inasmuch Foundation Fellowship program.

With the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.

Dick Pryor has more than 30 years of experience in public service media, having previously served as deputy director, managing editor, news manager, news anchor and host for OETA, Oklahoma’s statewide public TV network. He was named general manager of KGOU Radio in November 2016.
