Authorities say two workers were killed and one was injured after an explosion at a steel and wire plant in southern Oklahoma.

Marshall County Sheriff Ed Kent says the blast happened Monday afternoon at the Mid American Steel & Wire plant in Madill, located about 120 miles south ofOklahoma City and near the Texas border.

Officials haven't released the victims' names, and the state's medical examiner said Tuesday the bodies have yet to be identified. Kent says the injured worker was treated and released from a local hospital.

Kent says fire officials are still working the scene to determine a cause for the explosion. Investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are expected at the site.
