Attorneys Want DA's Office Off Hostage Case

Defense attorneys representing the man who police say took several people hostage at a Norman office building last week are asking the court to disqualify the District Attorney's Office from prosecuting the case.

Attorneys for defendant 29-year-old Devin Rogers say since Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn participated in the negotiations, his actions make him a potential witness and he should be removed from the case.

The Norman Transcript reports that Mashburn says a hearing on the motion hasn't been set yet, but says there's no reason to recuse the office from the case.
