Gov. Mary Fallin has appointed a longtime prosecutor to the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
Fallin announced Wednesday the appointment of Robert Hudson to succeed Judge Charles Johnson on the court.
Hudson was appointed district attorney for Payne and Logan counties in 1996 and was re-elected four times. Since 2012 he has served as a special district judge in the two counties and previously was first assistant attorney general.
While he was district attorney, Hudson helped establish Oklahoma's first drug court to offer alternatives to prison for offenders convicted of non-violent drug crimes.
