Norman City Councilman Charged With Felony

Norman Police charged City Council member Stephen Holman and a local store owner with numerous criminal charges, including a felony, at Cleveland County District Court Thursday. The charges come after a police raid of The Friendly Marketon Dec. 1. 

Court recordsshow police found a large amount of drug paraphernalia, including glass pipes and rolling papers.

Both the store owner Robert Cox and Holman, who identified himself as the store manager, were charged with six counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of proceeds from drug activity. An affidavit says police also found money in Holman's personal briefcase and documentation relating the money to the sale of paraphernalia.

In a poston Facebook Thursday, Holman called all seven charges “erroneous and very likely politically motivated. 

"I feel extremely confident that the law is our side so I will continue to stand up for what is right and against further injustices," Holman continued. 

Holman represents Ward 7, which includes part of The University of Oklahoma’s campus. He was sworn into office in July of 2013.
