Oklahoma Engaged is a multi-platform project focused on election coverage. As a public service journalism collaboration of KGOU, KOSU, KWGS, KCCU, and StateImpact Oklahoma, the reporting includes community stories, audio reports, snapshots, state question breakdowns, profiles, videos, and more. Major support is provided by the Inasmuch Foundation, the Kirkpatrick Foundation, and Oklahoma Humanities.

Oklahoma Engaged Checks Policy Progress

This is the Manager’s Minute.

In 2018, KGOU and our public radio partners covered Oklahoma politics through Oklahoma Engaged, funded by the Ethics & Excellence in Journalism Foundation and the Kirkpatrick Foundation.

The elections are over, but our voter-focused coverage is not.

Oklahoma Engaged continues during this legislative session.

Last year, we identified top issues through public opinion research. This year, we’ll update you on how well elected officials are following through on their campaign promises to address issues Oklahoma voters told us were most important.

Also this session, eCapitol news director Shawn Ashley and I will shine a light on government with newsmaker interviews and legislative progress reports in our weekly Capitol Insider segments.

Catch Capitol Insider Friday afternoons at 4:45 and 6:45, Monday mornings at 6:45 and 8:45 and on Apple Podcast and Spotify.

If you have questions about government, politics or policy, send them to news@kgou.org.

Until next time, with the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.

Dick Pryor has more than 30 years of experience in public service media, having previously served as deputy director, managing editor, news manager, news anchor and host for OETA, Oklahoma’s statewide public TV network. He was named general manager of KGOU Radio in November 2016.
