COLD WEATHER SAFETY INFORMATION
Cold air continues to push into Oklahoma as a strong arctic front quickly moves to the south.

Temperatures will continue to drop dramatically. By 7 p.m., temperatures across northwestern Oklahoma will be down in the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Although most ice accumulations will be light, a few spots may receive around one-tenth inch. With strong winds, even light ice accumulation will result in some downed tree limbs and possibly damage to power lines.
This could result in sporadic power outages. Outside of bridges and overpasses, no significant travel problems are expected. Monitor this situation closely!
Friday will be cold. Minimum temperatures in the 20s and 30s will combine with gusty winds to produce wind chills in the single digits in northwest Oklahoma to the lower 20s across south central Oklahoma.
Maximum temperatures will remain below freezing in the northwest and struggle to make it into the lower 40s in the southeast. Winds will be 20-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph (strongest winds will be in western Oklahoma.
Morning lows on Saturday are expected to be below freezing. Afternoon highs will only warm into the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Forecasters are still trying to lock down on what to expect Sunday, but snow is looking possible for much of the region as a stout upper level disturbance lifts north/northeast across the southern plains.
Impacts and timing are still hard to lock down, but winter weather will continue through the weekend.
