This is the Manager’s Minute.
Last month, we celebrated the 51st anniversary of the signing of the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967, that created the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and led to the formation of National Public Radio (NPR) in 1970.
As he signed the Act into law, President Lyndon Johnson said Americans have an appetite for excellence – that what we want most of all is to enrich man’s spirit.
That idea informs the mission of KGOU. We strive to educate and serve all people with reliable news and information, connect communities, operate responsibly, and be a forum for public affairs, independent of government control.
You can find our ethical standards at KGOU.org; if you have any questions about what we do, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. And, we’d appreciate your support.
Until next time, with the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.
